Can anyone shed some light on these ? Quite conflicting views on the net, some say they are great other claim to have never heard a good pair....

I know they can suffer foam rot which is an issue & is the Kube EQ 100% necessary like Bose 901's ? 'Cos that's not included.

There is a pair for sale locally, just over £100 - Worth it ?

Yes, but check the tweeters are good. They are difficult to get hold of. I know this as I'm still looking.

Duly noted. Have just Googled & apparently the original tweeter is an "SP1276" no longer made [surprise, surprise!] the "SP1353" is a drop in replacement also discontinued. However...

The SP1276 can be found in Q60's [a few on eBay currently.] & the SP1353 can be found in any of Kefs 1st generation reference surround sound speakers [also a couple on eBay currently.]

A bit of a ballache cannibalizing perfectly working speakers for parts but could be the only way :)
