David - have you had the chance to have a good listening session with it yet?

I'd be interested to know how it compares to your other decks.

I personally think it looks even nicer with the wood trim - gives it a slightly retro look.

Riddle me this though - I don't understand how Funk can produce this turntable, including a decent arm for £1150, when they are charging £595 just for their Technics platter. Is it just a matter of market forces, where they feel that they can charge what they like for lucrative Technics "add-ons", but now they need to be seen to offer "value for money"? :scratch:

Yes, I have listened to it at length and it is very good indeed. I have no space for 'dead wood' and any new product has to earn it's keep, so I wouldn't buy in any demo stock I'm not sure of.

The Funk LSD is fast, dynamic and natural. I rate it highly as does Ian Bolton in the latest Hi-Fi World.

I have no knowledge of the Technics platter, so can't answer this question.

The Techie platter sells through a dealer network and no doubt is a very limited edition item I suspect. Does Arthur have the tooling on-site for this?

That deck looks great in finished form, but a full dealer setup prior to collection is essential I think, so the dealer can check everything is working properly - goes for all new decks too IMO...

The "wrong" Dave answering for now, but I can tell you they're (the IC's) white, flexible, with posh looking dedicated plugs and couldn't look further away from Klotz AC110 and Neutrik Pro plugs if they tried :lol: - not that there's anything wrong with the latter in the right system and these were perfect for the older electronic products which were a touch thinner toned than the current ones IMO...
