Hi All,

Im Stuart - and i still have my original NAD 3020 amp - now you know how old i am too - and Genisus 1 Speakers (they had very sweet tweeters).

Music: lots, classic rock, jazz and some pop

I might still be using the original 3020 if i had not changed countries (and voltages).

Now i have a small main system due to travel constraints:
NAD C340 Amp
NAD C541 CD Player - main source
B&W CW2 Speakers
Ipod/Itunes ALAC- secondary source

Secondary system:
Airport Express
BeoLab 3 Speakers
(soon to have a Beresford Bushmaster in between - partly because of this great forum!)

I still need a quality way to connect the Ipod to the main amp.. any suggestions are very welcome! Its a problem i have not solved yet.

Hi Stuart, and welcome to AoS. So, which country did you come from originally, or did you go and come back? I've lost touch (sorry!) with the current crop of iPod docs, but it sounds like you need one of those that offers digital out (preferably coax) which bypasses the internal DAC of the iPod and lets you send a signal into an external DAC - if you want to do this on the main system, it would mean another DAC I suspect. Suggest you start a new thread and we can give you some options.

What sort of music do you like?

Enjoy the forum! :)

Thanks alex!

I started a thread on Ipod digital docks

I listen to a mix of classic rock and jazz mostly, and pop sometimes. Some old favorites would be Kieth Jarrett, Michale Hedges, Ottmar Liebert... then Aerosmith, Doors, Pink Floyd. I still love them!
