I have just installed this behind my system:

Not making any great claims as I have de-oxit treated the ends of the cables and that may be the cause of the improvement.
Not bad for a fiver.;)
We used to have an unswitched socket that sat underneath a table in the corner of the front room. One night i unplugged the lamp that was plugged into it at the time, next thing I knew I was across the front room.
I know, I know, cool story bro and all that!

Was the fault to do with the lamp or the socket Myles?
After reading my post I should have at least hinted how the whole escapade had unfolded. I had reached under and with the grabbing hands of a 13 year old, I had managed to finger the live somehow, resulting in a rapid escape from the area! No fault with the socket whatsoever, just something to think about if you have the untrained plug remover going anywhere near it.

Did you Deoxit the cable in the wall connecting to the socket ?
Hadn't thought of that......
