The alternator on my van is a bit suspect at the moment. I wonder if this would fit?

Have you not seen my old engine Geoff ? its not the sort of thing you stick you find under a bonnet of a van as it weights over 2 tons and is over 100 years old

Not exactly standard though. Not a Vauxhall engine either. Probably little if any Vauxhall running gear either.

I saw it on the telly. It looked like a real pain to use on the road.

The fastest production motorcycle has a similar performance and you can buy one (if you've got about £100,000).

Crackingly good little 8mp Kodak C875 camera. I've had one of these for years and the quality of the Schneider Kreuznach lens is outstanding. Going to be cheap!

I sent one this morning regarding the step down transformer i.e that I didn't need one any more as I discovered the amp is OK for use with UK mains . I'll try again mate.

Gorgeous 8mp Olympus C8080 camera ending soon and only up to £39.99. These take superb pictures and have a very versatile wide angle zoom lens. Extremely solidly built, with loads of facilities. A great camera.

One of the most underrated cameras about. Kodak P880, superb Schneider lens and a 24/170mm wide angle zoom. Perfect for taking close up (macro) piccies of Hi-Fi gear. It may be 'only' 8mp, but the photos are superb. I've got a couple of these in my collection and they are great! Nice to use too.

Here's another. Olympus C8080 wide angle zoom bridge camera, fabulous build quality and a superb lens. Forget the 8mp count, this takes wonderful pictures and is built like a battleship. Yes I do own one and I'm keeping it!

This will need more than a wipe with an oily rag. It's just scrap really, not restorable. I didn't like the 'Classic' much anyway, they all rusted badly. Corsair and Mk.I & II Cortinas were better.

Andr'e, these days neither of the MGs would be regarded as a performance car. They are still fun to drive though, especially the Midget.

Anyway, you're never too old to get a licence. Go for it.

When it arrives:

Gold trim off from around the table top, the top & edge wants veneering in real wood Teak or maybe english Oak veneer..
The pole will be sent off to be chrome plated unless i can locate a new pole already done..
The black centre trim on the pole im getting a turner to turn me one out of Hardwood to match the veneer as the original will most probably be sprayed Beech..
Legs just stripped & refinished in satin black (most important aspect of the design Aesthetic)..
Shade as you say probably orange maybe dark Tea/bluel..
Chrome Bulb holder/rewire..

The whole idea is to take away the trimmings that make it a 1950's article & bring it into the 60's.

Looks to be in good shape Andre. I have a fair number of Dinky & Corgi models (unfortunately the ones I had as a kid have mostly been repainted...). I also have a fair amount of 'Minic' (kind of 00 gauge scalextric)

I refinish them in the correct colour, new tyres & transfers, put them in repro boxes, you'd never tell the difference from new :eyebrows: I only collect the original Meccano Dinky & Crescent cars upto mid 60's with the plain wheels. :)

Some people! I just bought a Canon G9 compact camera off eBay. It was described as "very good condition". My arse is it, it arrived today and immediately on opening the package I was unimpressed. There are several dings in the body metalwork, the rear display screen has small scratches all over it and so does the brightwork around the lens. It seems to work OK, but I'm not at all happy. The condition could only be described as 'poor average' at best and I sent a message to the seller expressing my opinion. Of course sending it back would add another tenner to my outlay and postage refunds do not enter the equation when dealing through ebay (why not?). It's not a big enough amount to bother trying to sort legally, but If this guy does not come up with a suitable solution, he is going to get the stinkiest bad feedback ever conceived and I have a few dirty tricks up my sleeve for naughty eBayers. Fuming!
