Otherwise the "catitude" adds too much distortion and incorrect colouration in the carpets here and there ;)

We have got three but ocassionally we cat sit 2 more for our daughter, all house cats. Minor incompatibility problem between one of ours and one of the visitors. Based on our experience, 2 or 3 are fine, 4 or 5 to be avoided. One thing that does make it easier than it would otherwise be is that all 5 have been brought up on dry food (Royal Canin) and water, which means that we can use bulk trickle feeders for the food, which only need replenishing once or twice a week - with daily changes of water - all fed on demand rather than at set time(s) of the day.
IMO, if you are thinking of house cat(s) two would be best as company for each other rather than on their own, as opposed to 'street' cats tht find find their company outside the home.

It's a little greedy, but I'd give it a go - if you can't manage them both, you could always have the leftovers with some bubble & squeak the next day.

One cat is enough for a house imho. They are destructive buggers and you can't watch 'em all the time. In a few weeks, when the springs here, we will be getting dead baby mice proudly presented to us by our tabby.

Gosh !! One of a number of reasons why I'd never have one as I know this is just a natural thing they do. A young woman I work with has two and she is regularly presented with half eaten, half dead, sometimes still twitching mice and birds of all varieties :eek:

Last year one of ours brought in 5 fledgeling Blackbirds from the garden (or the same one 5 times :):) ) and each time dropped it at our feet, totally undamaged (except perhaps to it's psyche ;) ). The same pair of Blackbirds went on to produce a total of 14 chicks in 3 separate broods, so their psyche wasn't too damaged :lol: .
The same cat loves playing with frogs around the pond but loses interest when they stop jumping and play dead. Again they all seem to survive the experience.
The other two cats just watch on in interest but never join in the fun - strange creatures aren't they?

Have as many as you have room for.

I love cats and dogs, not too keen on people though. Too demanding and hard to train.

Ha!

.....no matter how I try, I can't seem to find a way to make a Siamese cat appetising. Perhaps it might work in a green curry?
