Quad 34. Really nice condition, a couple of tiny chips in the finish but don't really show up in photos- hardly noticeable.

Works well after being left on for a long time, but could really do with a service, as the volume pot is a bit noisy and the input select buttons emit a little "pop" when pressed if it's cold. Also sometimes emits a little chirp when being switched on. Like i say though, leave it on for 20 minutes and these usually vanish. £160 collected from Glasgow. Is that about fair? Post £15 extra.

Service kits available from dada webshop for not much dosh and should sort out the niggles properly too. This pre really does benefit from a refurb and has useful features too - those tilt and bass controls really do help in so many situations!

Good luck :)

Hate to say this Hugo, but Quad will repair faults and do the absolute minimum elsewhere. Their minimum-necessary approach meant one blown II power amp which took a 57 with it some months later.

The 34, like the first 44's and 405's, were hobbled to a degree by some of the parts used at the time. Without spending a fortune, it's possible to lift their performance of these well above their "new" condition, and the sound is better too, with modern caps and op-amps of better quality and now, very low cost.
