:)
steve sorry mate , this fri , sunderland general (cellulitos) be there most of the day with introvenus drips etc , gonna be fecked sos , meet/hook up soon as , tommy
Can I ask what the fook this is doing in the classifieds section?? [Thread has now been moved here, where it should be] Steve, you've already got about SIX threads running in Blank Canvas to this effect!
Honestly guys, topics being posted in the wrong areas of the forum is becoming a bit of a joke! I'm forever moving stuff to where it should be, and it's pissing me off.
Perhaps we should start handing out a week's ban to anyone who's so lazy that they can't be arsed posting threads in the right place? ;)
Marco.

Tommy, i am so sorry to hear that mate. Please don't worry about a trivial thing like the bake off. What you have is bloody uncomfortable and it's more important to get it sorted. If all goes well on Friday i will have another one. Hopefully you will be able to get to that one.
I hope all goes well good sir. Please keep in touch. I hope you are up dancing soon.

lol, There are 6 threads on every forum about it.
Well, there's just about to be rather less, as if Steve doesn't have the courtesy to acknowledge my post, I'll be removing all the total bollocks and unnecessary threads he's posted about his fooking Northern bake-off ;)

Steve,
Yes, you'll be dancing off this forum, if you keep it up... Did you not read my post #5??
Please have the courtesy to acknowledge what I wrote in that post on your next visit here. Also, please note that if you post one more thread about your bake-off (which is now tantamount to spamming), not only will *it* be removed, but also you!
I trust that I've made myself clear.
Marco.
P.S All the best to Tommy. Get well soon, mate!

Apologies Marco. I will self impose a ban .
Thanks for responding, Steve, and apology accepted. No need to go - just please be careful what you're doing in future. We don't make many rules here, but we like to see those that there are observed :)
Cheers!

Is this a Ming-Da sponsored event?
Seems funny having manufacturers turning up at bakeoffs.

Marco.can i just say that i didn't get finished work until 9pm this evening having been there since 12pm and checked the forum as soon as i got home. This is why i haven't replied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have also sent a private apology. however, i feel a bit pissed off myself as i have hired somewhere at my own expense and tried to organise something that AOS members from the North East would enjoy. Please feel free to kick me off your forum:steam:
I wasn't hassling you for a reply, Steve. I simply asked you to respond to my last post when you next visited the froum, which you've now done.
The point I was making was that in your post #6, you replied to Tommy, whilst seemingly ignoring my post immediately above yours. If you had time to reply to him, then you should've also had time to reply to me. Scroll back and have a look, and you'll see why I was pissed off.
I've explained the situation in a reply to your PM. What you do now is up to you.
Marco.

Seems funny having manufacturers turning up at bakeoffs. No, it is most certainly not. I have paid for the hire of the venue up front myself. If you care to look there is an email adress and a phone number to enquire about the event, why haven't you asked such things vie them rather write such a remark here?????????????:steam:

Steve,
I think you're being a little unreasonable here in your response to Mark. He asked a perfectly reasonable question, one that had occurred to me to ask as well. I'm sure that others too, have thought the same and would like to know what connection you might have with Ming Da and how this came about.
No-one is accusing you of anything.
I think a huge dose of 'CHILL' needs to break out on this thread. Probably best that everyone steps back and has a quiet cuppa and a biccie before it gets any worse... :eyebrows:

And Ming-Da flog a few items. ;)

I wouldn't disagree Dave, and don't want to detract from the effort Steve is putting into this event, and would hate that he is discouraged (or indeed others are from doing something similar) but I too was wondering about the Ming-Da connection, so not too unreasonable for people to ask. Steve has probably been a bit over enthusiastic but I'm sure it is nothing more sinister than that.

I'll second that... As someone who's going to attend I'm not that bothered about anyone's 'motives'. Steve sorted the event so gets to call it his way, if he invites amps/dealers so be it. People can decide for themselves, take it or leave it. I might be concerned if that were all which were on the agenda but given I'll be taking gear, and Steve has asked who's bringing what then I'm not overly concerned.
Quite looking forward to it and hope theres a good turnout...

I would like to add to this thread in the interests of clarity that I removed Mingda products from my portfolio over a month ago and had absolutely no connection or knowledge with this event.

I'm not sure. Maybe there should be another thread or two about the cancellation.
p.s. My apologies for the trolling post. I just couldn't help it. It really doesn't help at all, and it's quite a shame the event got cancelled.

This is all a bit messy isn't it?
Steve,
OK, so you're annoyed at Marco because he had the temerity to be impatient with you. But try to see it from the point of view of managing the forum for a moment. I just did a search and, including the ones that have been deleted, there are a total of 9 threads about a North East Bake-Off. Is it any wonder that we might get a bit agitated when, on top of that, they start appearing in totally inappropriate parts of the forum?
As for a trade presence, well personally, were I thinking of attending I'd prefer such an event to be among enthusiasts with no commercial agenda and this would stop me going. But of course, it's up to you how you organise things. However, as I said before people will be interested in how this came about and your reaction to the question probably didn't help.
I think you've over-reacted to Marco's posts, but Steve, do you think it's fair to those who have committed to attend your event, to cancel it just because you're (rightly or wrongly) pissed off with Marco? It just looks a bit like you're biting off your nose to spite your face.

Hi Guys
I will add definitively that Ming Da had NO financial sponsorship of the event!:( Steve simply asked if I or Phil would like to bring some amps up to compare!
Which of course we were happy to do, as Phil has his family in Middlesbrough, and it was a good reason to stay with them at the same time!
Still hopefully we maybe able to do it some other time,
see you all one day!
Mark

Events like these are few and far between in this neck of the woods and I guess now we're a bit closer to knowing why:rolleyes:
I'm personally sad to see this cancelled and hope to catch up with all North East contingent soon.
I'm sad to see it cancelled too, Rich, and hope that Steve reconsiders. I'll admit (and indeed apologise) for being somewhat tetchy with him earlier, although Chris has neatly summed up the reasons for that.
I'm afraid that advertising his bake-off in the classifieds section, without prior permission or any consideration for others, simply because he didn't feel that his (numerous) threads, to that effect in Blank Canvas, were generating enough publicity, was a little selfish to say the least.
Furthermore, Steve subsequently throwing his toys out the pram and stropping off, like he did, after basically being told that, certainly hasn't helped the situation. Hopefully, he'll be man enough to admit that. After all, we're all human. Like I said, I'm sorry for snapping at him earlier, but I think that he should also examine his own behaviour, as far as this incident is concerned.
However, I think we can all learn from it and try and ensure that it doesn't happen in future, as local bake-offs like these are an essential part of growing our community.
Marco.

My final repost on this matter is that i am fully aware of my own behavior and consider such patronising as nothing more than trolling as one of your erstwhile colleagues admitted to in another post. As far as throwing my toys out of the pram etc i merely removed the need for anymore posting on the bake off etc on your forum or anywhere else. In addition. i must clarify that i funded this event myself and had no input from Ming Da UK nor am i part of their organisation. That is not to say i wouldn't be if they asked me. I was trying to organise an enjoyable eveny especially for AOS members in the North East.
I have pm'd all AOS members and others informing them of the cancellation. Having sent you a PM seeing the error of my ways this latest post clarifies that all of this has just not been worth the time expense and energy.
You're not doing yourself any favours, Steve. So be it.
Having sent you a PM seeing the error of my ways...
I should clarify that I have received no such PM. Only one stubbornly refusing to accept partial responsibility for this incident, and a non-response to my reply.
I have nothing further to say on the matter.
Marco.
