I will probably regret this, but moved over to a small nearfield setup in my new man-cave/spare room so these really would be wasted being used for TV and film duties.

I will be honest, cosmetically they are not in the best condition. They have some dings to the bottom corners and a few small ones to the top. At one point, one of the previous owners (I have been told) looks like they were painting near them as there are a few white specs on one side.
They come with the grilles, they are very presentable but two of the lugs are missing although they still sit on fine without any issues.
I feel the price reflects the cosmetic issues.

In terms of their sound, they are spot on. I have had one of the drivers rebuilt by Wembley Loudspeakers as the voice coil was rubbing, and all 4 of the bass drivers have had new inner surround donuts. They are the earlier Single Wire models that have rubber outer surrounds on the bass drivers.
I did have an issue where one of the bass drivers was very quiet but after taking them all apart and testing they are now working as they should, I think it was just a connection loose after the trip back from Scalford.

These are my favourite speakers that I have had in my room, I found the did the 'least wrong'. Great soundstage definition, midrange-treble integration and brilliant dynamics.

They are actually relatively easy to drive and very sensitive, I used the Puresound A10 with good results, only missing out to some high output bass depth from the Sony 770ES (also up for sale).

In a room they like, they could SOUND the biz too. gawd that price is a good one and although I've had my fill of black ash, this finish is SO easy to clean up and blemishes or dings can easily be black-waxed out to a surprising degree. Clean with black liquid shoe-shine..............

Yup, thanks for the nice easy transaction! Hope you get sorted soon, I know how stressful and time consuming it is to move house!
Let us know how you get on! :)

Well I got them in and set up for a listen and they sound very nice on the Jungson in the living room. Pretty much as I expected.

The plan was to use them in the workshop (well spare room since the last housemove) but they are a bit bigger than I remembered and so don't quite fit and they are a little on the overkill side for living room rears!!! I think the plan will be to give the cabs the treatment they deserve and repair the dink and dents in the real wood veneer. As Rob stated in the ad, they were a little tired.

I've ordered soft and hard wax repair sticks to deal with the scuffed corners. The cabs and grills have otherwise cleaned up very well including dealing with the paint spots. I've be burred and painted the spikes and also ordered new binding posts as the originals were loose on 4mm plugs. I've also established the cause of an intermittent problem (I think you said it gave you issues recently Rob?). The cable was fractured where it attaches to the back of one of the binding posts!

Anyway, a couple of pics of the work in progress!
Left hand cleaned and sorted, right hand still to do.

The words "as new" come to mind!

What's the procedure for dealing with the dinks Ian? My Tannoys have a couple of old knocks that would be nice to deal with.

Cheers guys, I'll start another thread with a bit of a pictorial and what I'm doing.

The cones in these are in great condition with new donuts so they really do deserve the makeover.
