What small cheap bookshelf speakers would you recommend that have a lovely midrange?

Cheap as in the used Celestion DL4's for sale here for £20, or cheap as in the PMC 20's, Harbeth P3ESR's or Spendor SA1's at £1500 or so, or cheap as in the "baby" Kudos model at over £3K (ever SSSSSSSSSo deeeeeetailed!)?

For under £200, the Wharfedale Diamond series seems to be a good start I reckon...

Tannoy Mercury's or the 601/602/603 series (trapezoidal cabs) can be had for well under £100 and have a fab mid range. Easy load to drive too. Mission 780se is also a great little speaker.

The Tannoy System 600 speakers that are on eBay at the moment. They have a beautiful mid presentation (the rest is excellent too).

You can have my AVI Neutron 5s in black piano gloss for £200.

These are normally used with an AVI sub, but work just fine by themselves. Very clear and lucid midrange, no treble glare, and reasonable bass for the size. Have a look here:
