More fund-raising, this one very reluctantly ...

This is an SPU Classic N, the 'naked' version of the SPU equivalent to a standard SPU GM cartridge, but without the bakelite headshell.
This one is mounted in a Sumkio headshell, with a shaped alloy spacer (to lift it to the correct depth) and a weight which takes the whole combo up to the equivalent of an SPU on headshell ... this can be removed for arms that don't have a heavy counterweight, so a good way to access the SPU sound on a standard tonearm (the spacer can be used on a standard arm as well as mounted in a headshell).
I don't know how old it is, I'm told it was not heavily used before I bought it and the tip condition under magnification seems to bear that out - tip looks perfect. My main cartridges are an AN Io and an SPU GM Mono, so I've barely used it. It gives the classic 'big' SPU sound, high quality and really enjoyable.
No original box but I'll pack it carefully in an Audio Technica box. List price is €645 plus €25 for the alloy spacer (just under £600). Looking for £285 for SPU, headshell and weight, including special delivery in UK.

Details on the Ortofon SPU Classic N
The SPU Classic N provides the same sound reproduction properties as the SPU Classic GM series, but is sold without the integrated headshell unit. The SPU Classic N is a Moving Coil (MC) cartridge with an 18µm spherical stylus profile. Listeners who wish to mount the SPU Classic on a traditional headshell may do so, and those with vintage SPU-type headshells can use the Classic N to recreate an authentic and functional SPU cartridge.
