Does anyone remember a "Hifi " company called this?
They were based in Erith in the south east, but also opened a branch in Nottingham in Bramcote, in the early ish 70's.

The reason I used the inverted comma's with Hifi was the fact that they mainly only sold pretty cheap kit, including Teleton, and Alan Sugars horrible Amstrad amplifies, the iC 2000 and 8000's I recall they were, along with BSR Macdonald decks, or a cheap Garrard equivalent, partnered with cabinets that housed EMI 2 or 3 way 13 "by 9" drive units, wired with really cheap and nasty bell wire cable.

I admit to actually working there in the Nottingham branch, mainly because the guy I worked for became a partner in the company, and I just got dragged into helping put these speakers together, and flogging them on the sales floor too!

They worked on a pile them high, sell them low basis, and only sold complete systems, which were not interchangeable as such, but you could select a higher priced system, which actually was not that bad, and with an apparent 50 % discount, they used to fly out of the store.

However, after a busy Saturday, where maybe 20 or 30 Amstrad amps were sold, 75 to 85% of them came back faulty on Monday!

I remember the name but that's about it. Trying to remember where I used to see it. Might have been Exchange & Mart.

They used to advertise in the Hifi press of the day, mainly monochrome images I recall, very cheap looking!
