View Full Version : Hi !
I'm relatively new to this hobby (about four years) but its snagged me, hook, line and sinker ! My main system consists of Esoteric Mg-20 speakers, a Hegel H-200 amp, a JVC K2 (DV 9000J) CDP, an Oppo 95, SBT, a TEAC/Esoteric D-10 DAC and a Rega P3/24 (which I barely use as I need to find a place that will align the cartridge:scratch: )
My bedroom system has PSB Synchrony Ones, a Sony VFET TA-5650 (that replaced a Hegel H-70 which is now in the guest bedroom !), Logitech transporter and an Arcam CD17.
Opinions and upgrade paths would be most welcome.

It's really not as scary as you might think to align the cart! I bottled out of it for years but mounted my last cart without any probs.
Did you get any instructions with the Rega deck? All you need is a good alignment protractor, the right tools to mount the cart and raise or lower the tonearm. If you haven't got a protractor you can download one off the Vinyl Engine website. You should also get one of these to set the tracking force -

Have a go and if you run into problems there are plenty of people to help here. :)
Thanks, Jules. I'm really loving my JVC K2 player for now (am listening to the FIM K2HD version of Kind of Blue) and almost hate the thought that Vinyl would sound better than this ;)

Can't find DV 9000J on web. Is it XV D9000 you are referring to?
Play K2 CD on K2 decoder is a good move which I spent one and a half year to figure that out.
Welcome to AoS Mohit.
Apologies for the late welcome (seven and a half years late!), but your introductory post must have passed me by.
I hope you have now been able to set up your Rega deck and cartridge. What are your tastes in music?
Anyway welcome again
Barry
