You don't see many of these about ! Comes fitted with a quad of Mullard EL34 and a Mullard GZ34. It’s in beautiful condition. All transformers are original. This amplifier just sounds beautiful.

Things you need to know:

1. The output sockets etc have been disconnected but physically retained for aesthetic appearance and completeness.

2. When this amp came to me it had a valve pre heater fitted and the output impedance switches and voltage selector removed. I have had the pre-heater disconnected and switches/selector replaced to bring the amp closer to its’ original specification. This work was carried out by John Wood.

3. The amp has been previously serviced utilising high end audio capacitors. I've had it further looked at by JW who made a handful of additional component changes to bring it up to original spec.

4. There are 3 small (2mm dia) holes to the rear panel of the amp because some ****nut took a drill to it to do 2 above. You can see these near to the switches. A minor blemish on an otherwise lovely amp but I want to point this out.

Any dem. welcome (Nottingham), going to Scalford, could deliver/meet within reason.

£1350.

Good luck with the sale.

Well it didn't sell.

I think that was because you placed too high a starting bid. Perhaps it would have been better to have set up a reserve price (being the minimum price you would have accepted) and have a low starting bid.

Punters are put off by large starting bids, whereas a lower one will get them bidding as they think they may be in for a bargain. Having a reserve means you won't be letting it go for peanuts.

Maybe it's just me but I don't bid on stuff with a reserve as it smacks of being underhand IMO. I'd rather see an honest to goodness starting price, however high, so everyone knows where they stand.

Totally agree mate plus the reserve adds to the fees big time.

I only sell stuff BIN that needs to be BIN (boiler spares) and auction with a high starting price (Hi-Fi, camera gear etc).

I've a Leica lens up for sale at the minute in mint condition with a high starting price of £350, the last one of these lenses sold for £300 last month with a £300 starting price and one bidder.

What Leica lens is it? M fit or R fit?

Fair play on the ebay comments. I'll list it again in a few months and use it inbetween. It is what it is, but it's a funny old market at the moment.

Mint Leitz Elmar M 4,0/135mm serial number 1770954 circa 1960 E7RBLAC lens.

A beautiful lens, bought from a realtively famous Leica collector's estate in an auction about 18months ago.

Don't think it was ever used, no box or papers but comes with the plastic keeper.

PS, apols to the OP for off topic stuff.
