I think it is just a photo aberration. Very poor photos in fact (not that I can talk :rolleyes:). The seller is very good actually as I have a friend who bought from him last year and was very pleased with the goods and service.

I agree it looks like that in the very first photo but still sure (Shure? :lol:) it is an aberration.

I've bought one or two items from him, admittedly in need of work. I wouldn't say he was suspect or dishonest. The last thing I bought, a Quad AM Tuner, was from him and was £12.50. In quite a bad way, but I was aware of that when I bid for it.

Looking at the first photo again, on the face of it it does appear as if the stylus is 180 degrees out. But if you were to "turn it back" the angle of the end of the cantilever wouldn't be correct for it play. I imagine DH would be the one to say for definite.

It's so you can play side 2 before you know what it sounds like.. .simple! :)

It looks like someone has shoved a cantilever into the retaining rubber that normally holds the cantilever. But in doing so the person did not take into account that it has been inserted the wrong way round.

Very odd. I don't see how an "aberration" can appear in two photos. The cantilever tip seems to be 'cranked' the correct way, but the diamond tip looks to be on the back (top?). Maybe it's for playing very narrow records upside down? (never keen on any of the V15s anyway!)
