View Full Version : From Genesis to Revelation
Like many of us I'm a Genesis fan, one album that is hardly ever mentioned is their debut "From Genesis to Revelation" an album I am very fond of.
It is so different from what was coming in the next decade , it is innocent, beautiful, melancholic, it has a tranquil vibe throughout.
Peter's voice is truly wonderful.
A lost classic ? Probably not but an overlooked gem , maybe.

I can't see the track listing as i don't have spoty, but i have the 2CD issue on Edsel.. I'll pick a vinyl issue up if i can find a minter..
I have 2 copies of this and love it - I have the Disky set and also the DCC Steve Hoffman remaster, which I like a lot - got it for peanuts on eBay many years ago, from someone who didn't know what they were selling and no-one else spotted it ;)
(those days are gone now though on eBay)

I've got a stereo boxed Decca SKL 4990 (Matrix numbers:- Side 1: ZAL 8839 P-1W Side 2: ZAL 8840 P-2W) with a Clarifoil laminated sleeve, lyric sheet - The sleeve is excellent, the lyric sheet is perfect & the disc is perfect apart from some spindle marks.

I agree this is a quality reissue. I also have a Japanese Imperial Records reissue on 180 gram vinyl which reproduces the original artwork (2007). Don't know the source but it is very nice sounding.
