They said it would never happen, but here they are!

Crowds, a couple of classic turntables, cassette decks and a rather nice pen...

Did you get your Garrard tonearm part Adam? There must be a shagged old 1000/1025 model you could cannibalise - and then sell the rest off as spares on our favourite auction site?

Yes they are.

Incidentally, I feel sure you'd have felt my pain - I had my eye on a rather distressed Sony TTS3000 with PUA286 arm. It started the day at £200 and quickly dropped to £175. I kept an eye on it for hours as it was right near my stall and when I finally decided to go in with an offer, someone was just buying it as I walked over.

The worst part, though, is that, at some point, the price had dropped to £65 and I hadn't spotted this - I'd have grabbed it long before if I'd known! :(

Way hey.... At last!! :yay:

Nice one, Adam. Looks like it was an interesting jumble! Congrats on the Gates T/Ts - I'm envious... Make sure you restore them to their original glory and fit a nice broadcast cartridge to the Gray arm :)

Love this valve amp, btw:

Marco.

P.S Pity you didn't host your images via Photobucket or Imageshack (as I've done, above). It's much better when pictures appear instantly, than using thumbnails.

No sadly not. Even the cheapest, rustiest, most knackered and unplinthed deck I spotted still had a price tag of £15!

Adam,

Thanks, really enjoyed reading this thread so far and looking at all the great pics. I really should go down to one of these audio jumbles at some point.

I didnt think they were Tripletone Pre/Tooner as there a bit long, i was worried it was a model i'd never seen before. Ive seen the Archon 'SL101' before but not the Pre & Tuner!

Jesus Jon id have been in my element with that lot, the Pile of Armstrong & Leak transistor gear looks tasty. a real cumfest :eyebrows:

In what way? It's busier and there are more stalls but it still has the same selection of equipment that veers from downright bargain to sadly expensive, encompassing sensibly priced middle-ground items and ridiculously overpriced tat along the way!

It was on the cheap side i thought and was sold to another trader fairly early in the day, i already have a pair so three was just being greedy :D

This stereo version was also nice but failed to find an owner as far as i could see

One for you Andr'e , £475 was the asking price but it wasn't mint and needed tidying

I was just a bit curious about peoples' buying habits and if you'd perhaps noticed anything in particular like a swing away from this or that or a rise in the popularity of a product that say 5 years ago would have been hard to shift. When Trough-Line Fever was at its most ramptant I imagine some would have sold their grannies in order to optain one. I was wondering if there was such a sought-after item now.

Is there really anything left to be discovered? What's the word on the steet Beo-Bear? What's happenin'? What's happenin'?

P.S.
You can have your avatar back now Adam. I've had me bit fun.

I don't think there's anything particularly standout at the moment, and Troughlines are certainly not as popular as they once were. Some of the Japanese rarities are attracting attention, but not at the very high prices sometimes asked.

Wierd old valve amplifiers that look positively dangerous seem to continue to attract a fair amount of excitement and cash - why, I have no idea!

P.S. - That's like, really mean to steal my avatar 'n' stuff. For sure, blood, isn't it though? ;)

What is it?:)

I heard yesterday (on Radio 2's rather brilliant Beatles day - re-recording Please Please Me with various artists in 12 hours just like they did 50 years ago to the day - but I digress...*) that The Sterophonics took the name from one of the lad's dad's hifis - I though then I had never heard of any kit called Stereophonic, and then here one is!

(* Marco - the Gabrielle Aplin performance of There's A Place (http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ewzc6q/acts/amx5d4) was superb... the whole thing is worth checking out if you've missed it http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ewzc6q)

Yep - pre-ordered, for some reason the "DELUXE VERSION (http://www.amazon.co.uk/English-Rain-Gabrielle-Aplin/dp/B00AMYX60U/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1360855642&sr=1-1)" is £1 cheaper than the standard one on Amazon... but will have to wait a while... (April 29th - available on Limited Edition vinyl (http://www.amazon.co.uk/English-Rain-VINYL-Gabrielle-Aplin/dp/B00AMZ11QK/ref=sr_1_5?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1360855642&sr=1-5), too... :))
