Car insurance - Confused

Click on renew with the lot I was with last year echoice, they say they will contact me when the time is due. That's today and guess what ? they haven't

Went to Confused and Moneysupermarket for quotes
Nice prices, lowest for my Saab £137 !
Quick check before going for the cheapest as I'd never heard of them
Performance Direct - some appalling reviews, one or two good ones
Lancaster - some appalling reviews, one or two good ones
M&S Bank - some appalling reviews, one or two good ones
AA - some appalling reviews, one or two good ones
Premium Choice - some appalling reviews, one or two good ones
and so on

Now I know the complainers will speak out but this looks horrific

I've recently moved from rural North Yorkshire to town centre North Lincolnshire and my premium has gone up by around one hundred quid. I totally agree that next to bankers, they are just a bunch of robbing bastards.

They were over a barrel. The value of the car was so high it was cheaper to do the expensive repairs. Anyway the premiums are apparently so high they will get much of their money back. Looks like Rowan may have to do another Mr Bean film to cover his insurance. Must admit I had a good laugh over this and when I heard about the prang.

All insurance companies will wriggle but if you stick to the terms of the policy they have to pay up. I have never had a claim refused even if you have sometimes to accept a compromise when replacing household items.

Not owning a flash car as some of you lot do and now being over 55, I expect a reasonable quote for car insurance. I'd previously used saga (sad git) and they always gave good value. This last time, the premium went up hugely, and that was before I told them my annual mileage had doubled from 3000 to 6000 miles a year. I got an exceptional quote from the AA and Saga this time round couldn't match it, so I changed. However, on house insurance, Saga will happily match or beat anyone elses quote..

The secret is to look around every couple of years, if not annually. I was reminded that all these third parties (banks, building societies etc.) want your money for profit, not necessarily for service and fair do's be damned :steam:
