Evening everyone,

just a quick question, has anyone here ordered and built a Cornet 2 from Hagerman Technology?
http://www.hagtech.com/cornet2.html

I have found loads of resources and posts about it, but I was just curious if anyone had a first hand experience with this kit on AOS?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Best

I have one. Sounds good, the only issue I have is a trace of hum but I have speakers with 100db sensitivity and a lot of bass capability. With normal speakers there wouldn't be an issue. It's a good kit, well thought out and good sonics too. You have the option to spec the components as you wish. You could always buy mine....:-)

Interesting, did you build yours yourself?
Hum is exactly what i am trying to ban from my existing phonostage!
If so, how long did it take to complete?

I'd build my Cornet2. I can't remember how long it took but the way I do these things expect it would be 3 or 4 evenings. 1 for the resistors, 1 for the rest of the board, 1 for the metalwork, 1 for assembly and testing.

As for the hum, it seems some have found this isse, most has fixed it but a couple haven't. I have some ideas about how to cure it but I have other phono stages.....

If you want to be sure to purge hum I suggest this route:

The power supply is remote which is a often a good thing with phono stages.
