Lend and borrow register?

I was wondering if there would be support for setting up a register of AoS members who would be willing to lend service items, technical equipment etc to others? In a former life when rebuilding british motorcycles I was a member of the AJS owners club and we had such a facility which was hugely helpful. I remember borrowing a swinging arm bearing drift a member had made - only way to remove the old seized bush and if not for him the bike would not have gotten rebuilt - just cost me my petrol money.
Anyway, I can get the ball rolling by offering to lend my Connect Audio Technics 1200/1210 support jig (see photo). Absolute godsend to properly support the deck and not damage the arm and cover etc etc.

Free to lend but borrower pays postage both ways and undertakes to return after 1 week.

Yes good idea Stephen. I've lent my RCM out to a couple of members already - any established members within striking distance are welcome to have a borrow of it -providing they collect and bring it back, no posting.

I'd like this idea :) I'm itching to try a HI FI News set up LP ever since I've installed my Jelco on my Techie. I'm getting sibilance where none previously existed and noticeable inner groove distortion.

Maybe I'm being a bit of a tightwad but borrowing a test lp seems ideal as you'd only really need to use it once or twice. Setting up my cartridges in their headshells, checking alignment etc on the disk and bingo - jobs a good 'un!

I have one , it cost £10 , postage would be most of that out and back so no real saving

If I recall my one was purchased from Dave Mains cables are us but I did also purchase cables and a record cleaning machine so it my have been a special deal , best to email him and see ;)

Good idea indeed, I can do the Hi Fi News setup record. Got an RCM as well although I'd prefer not to lend that out but if anyone in my area wanted to clean a record or three you're welcome to come over.
Might be able to cut timber to size if needed desperately , ply, MDF as well, have to be local again. That might depend where the tools are at the time.

I'm guessing that for lending out they would have to be established members with a minimum number of posts?
