Good stuff Rob - I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to do the sat night but would like to. We only live 30-40 mins away so it's not like I need to stop over, and my liver could do without the hammering it would no doubt receive. :D

Saying that it could be a good craic.

And mine ....

I've got a room at the end of the downstairs corridor , well out of the way.... as my kit is DIY speakers and amps.. i would guess most won't bother looking in... But it would be nice to have the odd interested aos'r ... or any one else to call in for that matter.

A very big bakeoff. And a bit of drinking, and eating pies.

Is the trade there or is it amateur systems only...?

Just forum members systems.
They usually have a stall for vinyl in the reception area.

It's a good fun day out. You get to listen to other people's stuff. Some you'll like and some you won't.

Sounds good. Bet there are some heated discussions.

What happens when the AOS massive bumps into the Wigwam and PFM massives? is there a big bundle...

Nah - it's really chilled. I would really recommend making the effort to go if at all possible.

Went last year and really enjoyed the show itself but I'm put off by the car parking facilities which are practically non-existent if you arrive around 10am mark. Parking miles away on a mud shelf and walking through the rain is not for me :( If the forecast on the day is sunshine then I'd like to visit again.

..... and only if Marco and MartinT are using better amps and speakers to demo their TTs, oh, and bring a mix of vinyl to include just a weeny bit of Jazz please. Norah Jones is cute but not really what I regularly listen to.

It's a great day, nothing really else like it to be honest, most people that go as visitors or exhibitors have a fab day, it's a buzz.

Like everything, one mans love is anothers poison., but it's all interesting stuff.

The rooms can be tricky, but most get a decent result, it's always a bit of a shock when you first hear your system in a foreign room......

P.s Bring your own CD's and vinyl (or whatever), ask and most are likely to play it (as long as it's not brass band music!).

:-)

I've always managed to park very close to the entrance, but I have exhibited the last 2 years. Don't mind a bit of rain.
I'm going on Saturday this year for a few beers with the boys and staying over.

Don't think there is an AOS room this year, but most people will play your music if you take it with you and ask nicely. I remember playing some dreadful stuff for some people, but they were happy.

. I remember playing some dreadful stuff for some people, .

yeah I remember having to listen to it....what were you exhibiting Mark? Not sure I got to your room.

Dingdong

Last year was room 75, on the far end of the ground floor.

I'm always a bit wary when someone asks to play their music as it sometimes empties the room quickly. But I have heard some excellent stuff that I've gone out and bought after the show.

Thankfully nobody asked for that in my room. There is a limit.

I had to endure it on Speedy Steves' massive front horn loaded system. Don't know why people can't just stick to Wicked Game, Love over Gold and Kind of Blue - the 'demo triumvirate'. ;)

Must have missed that and the Austrian Death Machine. What a shame.
