Hi all, just joined. Came across this forum whilst googling for a power amp. Slightly miffed as I just missed out on a Parasound A21 that was avertised on these pages.

A little bit about me. I've been a member of avforums.com for 7 or 8 years and several other AV forums including Avtorget.no and hifisentralen.no as I lived in. Norway for 8 years. Nice country but damned expensive. Living in Norway comes with bonus if you're into hifi as there's a massive 2nd hand market.

But I've been back in the uk for 3years now and am continuing my hobby of collecting equipment.

So ,what do I have.. Well.. My stereo system consists of the following. B&W 803D speakers with a REL Stadium 3 sub, a pair of MF550K used as monoblocks, a MF A1FBP preamp, an Audiolab 8200CDQ, an Arcam CD36, an Electrocompaniet EMC1-up, and a SBTouch. I also have an old McIntosh MC2500 which I fire up occasionally.

I've got a dedicated home cinema room with a Panasonic 4000 pj and a 102inch screen. I'm using a Denon AVC-A1HD with B&W 804, HTM3S, SCMS, and CC6 speakers. I've got 2 xB&W SW750 subs and a SVS PBS 13 Ultra to fill in the really low end :)

I probably spend more time tweaking my system than listening to it which is a shame... But my quest to go fully balanced in the stereo system led me to this site... Someone please sell me their Parasound A21 :)

Welcome to AoS Colin.

Good introduction - you've got some nice gear there. Agree with your comments about going to a fully balanced system - I'm nearly there, but not quite.

What are your tastes in music?

Welcome again

Landford is on the Hants - Wilts border equidistant between Southampton and Salisbury, 3 doors down from the pub

What music do I listen to? Well, being an old'ish f**t I go for most 70's progressive rock, the likes of Led Zep, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac ( Peter Green's ), Yes, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny and Edgar Winter, Zappa and Beefheart, all feature extensively in my library. I think I've got most Radiohead albums and singles, and an awful lot of King Crimson.

Jazz is pretty high up on the list with loads of Miles Davis, Soft Machine, Monk, Stanko, Keith Jarret. In fact I'm a sucker for anything on the ECM label as their recordings are soooo good.. Oh yes, and I mustn't forget Stockhausen..

A bit of a mixed bag really, but NO POP

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the extra info (much appreciated), which has now been added for clarification to your profile.

It's important to remember that AoS is an international forum, so if I don't know where Landford is, someone from, say, the US or Italy, certainly won't... The world is a big place! ;)

Anyway, get stuck into some threads and enjoy the forum

Marco.
