I have used really 3 brands of connectors faithfully but I'm most likely going to reject a very popular connector Neutrik.

I have always used Amphenol,Switchcraft or Neutrik connectors for everything I have made since the early 80's Amphenol has been my go to brand.
Switchcraft has become to pricey and there 1/4 inch 3 conductor stereo plugs are a long time favorite and not changed much over the years.
But more and more I had been using Neutrik just a couple of years ago there stuff was so good.
I first noticed there 1/4 inch plugs had changed there smaller and don't seem as robust.
I liked there 90 degree mini jacks but anything bigger than Kimber PBJ won't make the bend, but quality was superb.

I ordered a Rean mini XLR made buy Neutrik and was surprised at how thin the contacts where, only good for 1000 mating cycles and the number of internal parts that had to all be lined up fitted together ext...

I expect German products to be over engineered, difficult to assemble and never flashy. This connector was like assembling a PO8 Lugar with over sized thumbs.
There's like 5 parts in this little plug to line up after you solder to the 3 tiny pins.
Well I got it all soldered up and when the last couple of turns where left I heard a click and it seems the one of the very tiny contacts broke from the pin.

So I ordered an Amphenol and will use those from now on.
Seems they make better stereo jacks these days too.

This connector looks just like the Amphenol rebranded ALO read the comments on it.
