After about a year of building it (more off than on:rolleyes:) I have finished this amp that I only started as the boards were free. The total build cost was of course anything but free!:D

Sound wise a typical Class A, much like the Pass F2 I built a few years ago:cool:

That case isn't going to open up in a hurry Rob! It's got a 'steam punk' look.

Err no!. A mate sourced the very nice and substantial heat sinks a few years ago that were destined for a "shelved" project. The Ali is just off cuts obtained for a song that I had to cut to size (fun!) and drill (even more fun!) As Dave will tell you I am a first class wood butcher, and even worse with metal!

Size wise I think you could fit about 15 trends cases in there.

Congratulations Rob. Very nice job there. I have some Hiraga 30w class A boards here that I will put together if I ever find the time.
JLH circuits are great.

Lovely work! Always been interested in these amps, bit tough to see, but looks like the original '69 circuit?

The heatsinks were sourced by a mate from abroad and he also got some off cuts of ali that had to be cut to size and drilled by me. As my mantra is "measure once and bugger it for good", I don't think I did too badly!

I am not sure if this follows exactly the 1969 schematic. There were some revisions in 2003 (I think). The boards were a free promotion from Siliconray.com, the schematic is on their site.
