Hello

Can any computer whizkids help?

My monitor has suddenly got these little red dots all over it. :steam:

They twinkle like evil red suns, each the size of a pixel. I've done a screen shot. Not sure if they'll show up!

I've switched the pC off and rather than getting a black screen I get a sort of maroon colour.

Is the screen on its way out?

There's a number of threads around about it.
Take yer pick ;)

Not on AOS surely? I had a good look through google before posting. The threads I found suggest video drivers, but I think the maroon background tells me it must be the screen?

I was looking at the banner your browser was displaying in the screenshot ;)

If the colours are off or you've got spots or things it could be your screen on the way out out or your graphics card hasn't got long to live, or possibly a combination of the two.
Does your TV have an SVGA input?
You could try that if it does - it'd certainly tell you if the monitor was faulty or not.

I shall give it go. What a pain in the arse.
