Got a friend looking for a budget phono stage for around 150 quid - I can't seem to find much second-hand for him but have found a couple of Creeks - there's a fairly new OBH-15 and then a much older and cheaper OBH-8. Are these worth considering?

They "used" to be good for the money and service should be available should you need it...

Does anyone have any experience with Dave Cawley's "Timestep Revolver Phono 2"? It's currently on offer at 75 quid ...

I used to have a Creek OBH-8SE, it was really good and for some bizarre reason I sold it! (DOH!)

Actually I purchased an EAR834P which was light years ahead of it, but I still wish I had the Creek about, would have been handy...

No but it's probably a cheapo chinese job that may have been tweaked. There are several similarly priced stages that are better known quantities. You can get a used Rega Fono for c£100 which would be a far better buy.

Yes buy it if you get chance I had one and wish I'd kept it, you will need to spend a lot more money to get something which sounds something similar. ;)
