Happy Birthday to the Art of Sound


According to some, the Universe was created on the 3rd of October 4004 BC (at about 9 o’ clock in the morning).

Be that as it may, a far more important date for us here is the 21st of January 2008, for that is the date when The Art of Sound sprang into life (at precisely 7 minutes past 7 o’ clock in the evening).

This means the Art of Sound will be celebrating its birthday today. So


Happy Fifth Birthday Art of Sound


In its five years, The Art of Sound has grown to be of a size and of a quality that must give its founders much satisfaction. Congratulations are therefore due to the Admin and Moderators for their achievements.

But without the membership, AoS would be nought; so everybody give yourself a pat on the back, and if you are opening a bottle of something alcoholic, raise a glass to The Art of Sound – the best audio forum online today! (You can do this, since under British law it is not illegal to administer alcohol to those over five years of age.)

Congratulations for surviving five whole years without imploding as so many other forums have done, so we can thank the leadership and of course the members who fully embrace that which makes AoS the forum of choice for many - myself included :eyebrows:

Thankfully the ethos has evolved where all opinions are welcome and it never ceases to amaze me that there are so many truly knowledgeable folks who hang out here that freely impart their wisdoms without fuss or favour and without a single trace of a patronising attitude. As someone else has also mentioned, we don't have the hysterics, handbags and bad language over cables and such-like, so it is indeed refreshing to chew the fat over these 'taboo' subjects without resorting to repetitive and pointless base arguments.

I echo the sentiments that Chris has expressed on the Noticeboard. The founders of AoS all had a vision, and that vision was to create the friendly community of discerning audio and music enthusiasts that you see before you now - and which wouldn't have been achieved without YOU our valued members and the effort you've put into building that community.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the management team, and my co-members of admin, especially Nick, for all the hard work they've put in, and continue to put in, to make AoS the special place that you've all described and value so much.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, chaps, so here's to the next 5 years and making AoS even bigger and better! :cool:
