I am after an amplifier in Champagne like the Marantz PM17 or similar (Sony 770ES/808ES or Denon PMA-1500/PMA-2000 etc), anything interesting that will be happy with a 4ohm resistive load also considered.
An integrated with a MM/MC input would be nice as well, overall power not critical.

Budget £300 max. Whaddyagot?

Found a Sony TA-F770ES, not in Champagne but a great price. Had one before so it will be good to re-visit it.

Indeed. :)

I'm going to put together a second system around my 670ES in our family room now. Got another pair of Q2010i's arriving today which will work a treat.

Sounds good, that will be a cracking second system!
Cant wait for the 770ES, I remember it running a bit hotter than the 670ES at the expense of the oodles of power.

Should be - the 2010i's I passed onto my dad worked great with the 670, really good, fun little speaker.

Meant to ask you about the operating temp of the 770ES - judging by the fact that it's a fair bit bigger (taller and deeper) than the 670ES I'm only going to have 10mm or so space above it on the shelf. Will see how it goes anyway.

With my old 770ES, I would want more space above that, it ran quite hot but I would just see how you get on.
I will hopefully put the S9000ES on top of the 770ES as long as it does not get too toasty.
