Hi All!

I've been browsing the forum for a couple of weeks so I thought I'd better sign up and introduce myself!

I'm Steve, 35, live in Sheffield and I'm a bit of a beginner on all things Hi-Fi which is how I came across the forum. I've had a budget system for lord knows how long and am just starting on the road to updating performance wise now that I have, for once in my life, a little disposable income!

So at the moment I've got:

Cambridge Topaz AM1
Ariston CDX-710 Cd player
JPW Gold Monitors
Bog standard Cambridge inter connects
Technics 1210 Mk2 with Nagaoka MP110 cart.

I've only just got the Technics TT, having upgraded from an ancient Sherwood that I had pinched of my brother years ago. Its a little battered but the price was right and sounds ok with the Nagaoka cart in it and on the present system.

Any suggestions for upgrades on a budget would be most welcome!

Musically I would like to think that I have a reasonably catholic taste. Having grown up with a Father obsessed with Bob Dylan I have a love for most of the usual suspects from the 60's, got into early 90's Indie as a teenager and from there ended up working in Music Retail for a good part of my 20's. It was here that my tastes were diverted into Funk, Soul, Reggae, Electronica et al, lately into Classic Rock. Got a reasonable CD/Vinyl collection over the the years.

So there we go, thats me!.

Cheers

Steve

Welcome Steve
There some great budget gear about
I suggest start a thread in blank canvas, give us a idea about how much you want to spend and a sense of the room the gear will be in. I personally recommend hearing a few systems first to get a sense of what you like and what direction you want to head.
