There seems to be a lack of any DIY platter mods when I searched.
Lots of ready made platters added to decks, but what about things you can try yourself at a small cost?
I suspect people are concerned about getting the platter out of balance, which is a valid point.
Has anyone ever put a standard platter on a dynamic balancing machine? With that soft sheet stuck on the back I wonder just how stable it is at speed?
Crazzy thought - peel off the backing sheet and pour in some latex self leveling compound, the type used for leveling floors. Anyone got an old platter lying round to try it on? Might try it on an old frying pan to see how well it levels.
