The picture depresses me, it reminds me of my youth when things were carefree and you could vinyl on the high street. Does that answer your question....... Bah.... I'm getting my coat to sulk in a corner..... :lol:

So do half the visitors at most audio shows, along with a shower, some neutral deodorant a change of carrier bags and different jumper after each event

Can anyone actually recognise any of the records he's looking at, and for a bit more fun does anyone actually a copy of any of the records in the photo. I picked a copy of jesus Christ superstar for 25p the other day. I only purchased it because I thought Ian Gillian sand on the original.. :D

It is a very old picture... check out the 'Pay here' counter it says CASH ONLY where do you see that nowadays? But being one of the ancient ones here it does take me back to an era I miss, job security for starters with regular disposal income to buy. Just look at bods then... long hair, facial tufts, torsos covered. Today we have billiard ball baldies (as if hair was a disease), diamond earings, bling and body art of various colours and designs not forgetting body waxing of intimate parts :eek:. 30 to 40 years from now what will people think when they research 'Record Shops' on the internet... or when their kids say,'Dad/Mum whats a record shop'?

Quite right, theres no excuse for spending all of one's money on audio gear and records without making a minor investment in your local barbers, a decent razor and some decent threads. What is this world coming too.. people will be forgetting pocket squares and tie pins next.

We did all look a right sight, though, in the 70s! :D

Ian Gillan did sing on the original, but the album in the photo is the flim soundtrack, and that had Ted Neeley singing the part :)

I think I may have resembled him at some time, and, I found a couple Slade LPs in a box the other day.:bog:

Yes, he's in the 'shows & soundtracks' section, which makes it a bit tricky for most of us But apart from the Jesus Christ SS album, there's a couple there I know & own - he's holding the 'Soundtrack Recordings from the Film Jimi Hendrix' album. (Never yet released on CD)

And immediately to his right on the bottom rack is the London cast recording soundtrack to 'Hair' (an album with the same cover was released on CD, but is nothing like the vinyl version). The only record I own with Paul Nicholas on it!
