Thanks for the invitation to come and say hello.
Joined up to rejuvinate my interest in music, getting bored of the telly.
Travel around a lot so spend more time viewing 20 inches in hotels than my 37 inches at home.
Stumbled here following a goal to start listening to my old Pioneer PD-91 CD player. (My kids don't believe that all it does is play CD's, judging from the size of it).
What caught my attention was the thought of bringing this CDP into the 21st Century with a new DAC stage.
Probably spend most time viewing "The Digital Impression" forum as I am leaning toward the TC-7520 rather than the Cambridge.
I may even visit the loft and get rummage through my DSP notes from 1984 e&ee course at Sheffield U. as I find the various mods interesting to follow and a soldering iron is always in my tool case. (I was wondering what that inbuilt sine wave function on my F-91 tuner was for).
I have to confess I will have to spend some time to get used to 'listening' to music again. Time is in short supply when you're away from home mostly and there are 4 others at home to interact with (work around).
Short term plan. CDP to DAC,, +Squeezebox,, +EeePC and NAS.
And next year the kids will all have left home and the mortgage will be paid off and ......... ... .. well , it is 3am. g'nite.
