Loving the look of that little combo. It reminds me of the NAC42/NAP110 of the very early eighties. I especially love the power amp.
Beware the dark side Gaz and the inevitable upgrade path... I will say its very pretty though and not too madly priced for their gear. I know its a slightly different kettle of fish but I'd love to compare this with the Rega combo which is half the price and basically does the same but with a phono stage.
Nowt but Rega for me at this point Rich, any upgrade would be to Osiris/Isis...assuming my numbers came up!
Nice bit of kit though, a Rega bakeoff would be interesting.
That kit is the Naim Gateway Drug.
I've heard the Nait 5i v2 amp in my system and I didn't get on with it, was bettered by T-amp monoblocks I had at the time.
Each to their own though.
Guess the Mdac's got some direct competition now (If you go by price alone that is.. ;))
Oh, talking of Rega stuff Rich, installed one of their Mains cables.
Quick version? Get one. Seriously.
My mates gonna fire you a PM about this..look out for it mate.
Gaz.
The Rega mains lead is good, but don't forget the higher current rated Mark Grant one for less dosh (no dealer)....
re. the Naim - Lovely looking box, but don't forget the Bushmaster does most of this for £250 or so - albeit in basic form - and the Naim is £1250, double or more the price of a fancy Audiolab?
Marks cables are great, had a few in my system at various times.
With the Rega kit I prefer their own leads.
More expensive though as you say Dave.
The Dac looks good and well specced/priced for a Naim unit, nowhere to plug a £5000 psu in though :)
nice looking bit of kit.
toooooooo much choice on the dac front
The only issue is it sounds like a Naim so just a small drawback :D
Sorry could not resist

Cheers for the info re the Rega mains. Very interesting. Just the day before I ordered some Black Rhodium fusion on sale from the nice Mr MCRU and am going to knock up a couple of mains leads with silver plated connectors. Once I've burned them in perhaps we could do another trial swap. Mind you, now I know what they make em with it won't exactly break the bank to knock up one of my own
