Hi all - I have a question about cartridge load settings.
My Dynavector DV202XL Low Output MC has a recommended load of >30 ohms.
Available setting on my Trichord Dino are 33, 100, 1000 & 47k ohms.
Its my understanding that 100 should be right for my cart, but I have seen it advised on other forums to just experiment with different settings "till the bass sounds right".
My question is, should going down the load scale (eg from 100 to 33) increase bottom end, or reduce it?

I discussed this in a thread about my Bent Audio SUT's (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2907):

The general rule seems to be that a higher value will bring up the treble a little and give a slightly more open sound – too much, & you get an effect that John Chapman calls “A little zippy”(!!). A value that’s too low removes some life and presence from the sound. These changes are immediately identifiable and obvious to anyone with a pair of ears. Once I’d tried the two extreme values, I moved up & down the range in progressively smaller jumps till I found the value that seemed to give the best balance.
