Not sure if Blank Canvas is the correct place for this but I found a very interesting video on Youtube --- it's a 12 minute edit of a documentary film made in 1964 covering Decca's recording of Wagner's Ring Cycle --- first time the complete Ring had been put onto records.
This selection focuses on the equipment being used, including manual editing which looked scary! I think the full documentary might be on Youtube somewhere, it's difficult to find on DVD though I think it's included in Decca's recent reissue of the recording.
I have this complete set on vinyl and it's quite an experience to listen to it. Sadly the analogue tapes have now degraded beyond use, the closest to the original one can get now is the 24bit / 48kHz transfers made in 1997. Or the original vinyls of course.
