Hey all , thought i'd get around to sharing my system with you .
Bit of a box swapper and been building it up as and when funds allow. Total system has stood me in about a grand i guess.
Puresound A30
Bewitch 8000
Royd RR2 speakers
Pro-ject RPM5 into Phono box se
Just a cheap dac to add so i can run the sky and ps3 through it.
Excuse the picture quality , camera phone.

Very nice system! Wanted to try some Royd revelations but the only ones I've seen have been on ebay & it always turns into a bidding frenzy... for good reason I guess :)
Have you tried the analogue outputs from the PS3 by any chance ? I compared mine blind & level matched with a DPA bigger bit & couldn't tell a jot of difference... Its certainly not as crap as people would have you believe (when set up right, 44.1khz sample rate / type 3 bitmapping)
Type 3 bitmapping is actually Sony's own "super bitmapping algorithm" originally designed for CD mastering use, using unique processing it realises 24bit quality from 16bit sources... According to Sony.
Didn't realise there was anologue outputs on the ps3?
Do you mean the lead that lets you connect it to the tv without using a hdmi?
Anyways , put a deposit on a dac in a local second hand shop before xmas , will probably pick it up in a couple weeks. A cambridge dacmagic .

Yep, I just use that cheap & nasty cable that comes with it. In the sound menu there is an option for "multi out" once selected it will output sound through hdmi, analogue & optical all at the same time which is handy for comparing against a dac :eyebrows:
I'm sure the dacmagic will be ideal overall as you've got the tv going into it aswell... I'm using a FIIO D3 for the tv & it sounds bloody awful!
Very nice set up Adrian, I too like those royds.

Yes, puts it into perspective really this system looks like it'll sound better than a lot of high five figures systems out there.
Bit of a change around. ( in fact there has been quite a few changes since the Royds left )

Quite enjoying the Rega , will be looking to maybe try some other speakers but its difficult to find something that'll work in my tiny room.

That cd is a funny colour and the transport could use a wipe ;-)
Starting to look at those newfangled vinyl things myself now.

0.5g tracking force seems a little low ?
Wasn't set up at all when I took the picture . All sorted now.
I've even give it a dusting :)
