I do not post too often but I am a huge fan of this site.

We have just moved into our house as we have left California for a change of scenery to Northern Arizona

I'll post some better shots once I find my tri-pod.

System:
KAB 1210 M5G (damper, PSU, Mike New Bearing, Isonoes)
Cambridge Audio 840c CD player
McIntosh C220 Tube Preamp
VTA M125 Tube amps
Klipsch Cornwall Decorators (Mahogany with African ebony trim)

Naughty speakers. How about room reflections - seems a bit "live?"

Thanks very much Mike - I'm extremely happy with them - they can be scary loud and crystal clear at the same time.

Thanks David - yep - the place looks a bit sterile with the bare white walls - I'm hoping the shag :eyebrows: carpet will help soundwise. I would do room treatments however my wife might not go for it - she has been a great sport to let me take over the room. Goal will be some large black and white artist prints.

Thanks again.

Cool system and room. I love how McIntosh gear looks, except for that TT they did - Is that snow on the ground outside?

Thanks Martin - yep that was a goofy table Mc made - as others have said - it looks like it was made of parts lying around the factory.

Yes - we had a few days of beautiful snow - I'm hoping for more.

That much snow in England would bring everything to a halt :) Fortunately it's a balmy 52 F here at the moment.

Fun looking system that one.

We spent a few days in and around Prescott on a family holiday a few years back - it snowed then and we got caught out in the woods in a bit of a blizzard. Great fun! I remember the meal that evening in a big place that sold good food that sticks to yer ribs, all washed down with micro brewed beer - exactly what we needed to warm up from the day in the mountains.
What a fantastic place it is that you live in!

Nice system. The speakers look interesting ... we don't see many of those this side of the Pond.
Lived in the States for 5 years, and still miss it. Mind you, that was proper snow in New England, piled seven foot high at the side of the roads, not the half-inch that brings the South of England to a standstill.

Sounds like a superb day - my sort of thing!

Thank you Chris - we've been here for about 6 months - Arizona is a really beautiful place to explore - from heavy snow to hot deserts. I know the place you are talking about - they brew some great beer.

Thanks Peter - yeah one of the reasons we chose Prescott is that it gets just enough snow to enjoy it - certainly not as crazy snow-wise as New England. We have our two sons setup (on their own to some degree) two hours away in Flagstaff where they get much more snow - they are young - they can deal with it - that is a fun college town.

Sounds like a superb day - my sort of thing!

Great system, Chris... Welcome to AoS :)

Marco.

Thanks for the welcome Marco - reading your posts over the years - was the main reason that I picked up the Techie from KAB - one of the last ones he had.

Thanks,

Chris

Very nice looking system indeed!

As already commented quite many clean walls you have there and not so many furniture as big soft sofas etc. Have you even considered any room treatment like acoustic or diffusor panels.. ?

Thanks Mika, Yeah - one of these days I'll get to the room treatments.

Here are some latest shots:

I've picked up a second table - one I've always wanted (besides the Techie) - a VPI Classic

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/af280/costerdo/IMG_2361_zps3bccf7e1.jpg

Now with the Classic and the Technics- I can swap and compare carts etc. I now have a DV 10X5 and a Grado Reference Master 1 on both decks.

Nice dogs, Chris - they look like happy chappies!

Love the VPI (always been one of my favourite belt-drives), so how do you find it compares with the Technics? :)

Thanks very much Marco. Very tough call - I'm still getting the feel of the VPI and absolutely love both decks. It is great to know that when I started out and chose the technics and the various mods - to arrive at the point it is now - and then to be absolutely blown away by both decks really shows how great the technics is. I'd consider my technics (as it is now - bought new, KAB powersupply/strobe disabler/damper/MN bearing/Grado Ref1) and the VPI to be at the same level - I'm no longer looking for any table upgrades except for carts and phono preamps. Those are a long way off as I've blown my budget this year.

Thanks,

Chris
