Hi,

The platter has had the ugly L75 lip machined off, and is also lined with lead for a little damping.
Fitted with a 5 hole Metal Idler.
I can fit it with a standard un modded polished platter if you prefer.

Hi Steve,
If you've done away with the original 'on/off' switch and its idler release, how do you ensure the idler wheel comes out of contact with the platter and motor spindle when the TT is turned off?
Geoff.

It doesnt Geoff, but it doesnt seem to be an issue long term.. I did do a couple of ideas down a bit back for a manual lift off but never got around to it.
Hi Geoff, a good point.
It is possible to add a small pillar or even just a sticking up bolt thread where the idler arm bends near its anchor end. As you push the speed selector into the off position the Idler arm moves forward, catches on the bolt/pillar, and moves the idler arm outwards away from the motor shaft and disengages it.
I havent botherd, as i have 2 slate PTP lencos, and a slate plinthed Lenco similar to the one for sale, also with the idler disengage levers removed, and have had no issues with flat spots on idlers. But its an easy fix if it bugs you.

Of course if it was to be left unused for a long period of time, probably best to unhook the Idler spring or fit something similar to my above description.

Nice Steve. Spotted an unused Meridian '101' Pre on the bottom shelf!
