... with a Garrard 301 or 401?

My interest in this arm has been piqued by almost universal praise for its abilities and value for money --- and the fact it's available as a 12".

I wondered if there was any synergy between it and the idler drive style of turntable?

I heard the PU7 on a Garrard. Andy831 who posts on a couple of the forums had one on a 401 in a slate plinth. From memory he used a Glasshouse amp and big Tannoys and I think a Puresound phono stage but I'm not certain.

I'm not sure if he posts on here but he certainly posts on PFM and the Wam. He lives on the Lancs/Yorks border so, depending on how close you are you could perhaps arrange something. Very friendly chap too.

I have hosted a PU7 on my own 301 for a good few weeks. Utterly stunning combo.

Additionally, my 401 is still home to Audio Origami's one and only prototype unipivot arm that never went into production. Don't tell Johnnie, though as I think he's forgotten about it....:D

I'd forgotten about that idea...

Dave,

Are you planning on a 2nd Garrard build?, going by your rig list, that system of yours is kicking.:fingers:
