Anyone tried swapping a Jelco arm-rest for a Technics one?

Just wondering, has anyone tried this?
I mean swapping out the Jelco 750 tonearm rest for a Technics 1210 armrest?

I'm not happy with the way you can't really secure the tonearm at rest with the Jelco - my cart doesn't have a stylus protector, so if the arm gets knocked off its stand it can easily get damaged. Using the rest from a 1210 you can flip over the little plastic catch to secure the arm.

So is it possible to exchange them? I mean, anyone know if they take the same size screw etc? Don't want to get into drilling out a new thread or anything...

Would leaving the cueing lever in the up position be a safer option?
It'd save all that swapping stuff about malarkey :)

Wasn't sure if leaving the cueing lever up was a bad thing to do with the arm at rest...but it is an elegant solution to my problem!
