Hi
35years on I got (get?) around to doing it.
A battered A60- replaces an equally battered valve amp.....at least I don't have to worry about the valves now.
I ve been told I should consider some remedial work (is this the right place for such a question?).
The smoothing caps, apparently. Is this a DIY job for a layman?
Who could supply those?
The amp sounds pretty nice, by the way, but do I get the impression of a trace of roughness/harshness that shouldn't be there?
It soundstages fine; I think some times it misses afew bits from the valves....maybe does few bits more in other ways.
Thoughts?
TIA
David
ps money is tight as I'm trying a new buiness venture, so megga buck servicing isn't on.
