Change in direction once more, and now selling my Restek Challenger.

Lovely amp, plenty of power on tap and really gets to grips with the speakers. Drove my Maggies with no problem.

130w/8Ohms and 200w/4Ohms
Can be used as a Pre amp (Pre Out) and Power Amp (Main In)
8 Line inputs (no Phono Stage) and 1 Tape loop
It has screw type binding posts, but they are pretty big so can accept bare wire and banana plugs.
Its quite heavy at around 16kg.
Runs very cool, even at higher output levels.

Condition wise is OK, few small dings here and there and some chip marks on the side of the face plate and heatsink. The very top left of the glass 'screen' is cracked/chipped but its not too bad.

Looking for £295

I dont have the original box but I do have a suitable box for it. I can courier it for £300 in total.

Collection from Faringdon, Swindon area.

Tired my best to make the marks show a bit better, not as obvious in real life:

I was once given a very convincing demonstration of the capabilities of this amp - I was pretty impressed at what was available for the price, which was £8 or £900 at the time (probably late 90's). So for £250£295, I reckon this would be a steal for someone.
Good luck with the sale Rob.

Hi Rob,

Damn fine amplifiers, even better run as a stereo power amplifier.

I still have 3 of these in the loft as I used to run a complete B&W Nautilus 800 Series Home Cinema off the back of these as power amps, Classe SSP300 at the front end.

If anyone is looking for an amplifier to run the most demanding speakers, with serious welly and grunt, as well as delivering the finer details, this amplifier is well worth Robs £295.00 asking price.

They are built like tanks and just keep going, pure solid-state German manufacturing.

Heck, my current system is running the Restek Extract Monoblocs with Consens Pre-amp, and they must be around 15 years old now, and just keep going.

Just my 2 cents worth!

Good luck with the sale Rob. ;-)

regards

Stephen

Cor - someone else with a Restek Consens pre-amp!
It is rather fine, isn't it. :)

Must admit I'd quite like a go with the Restek Extract mono power amps as well! :stalks:
