Hi folks, let me introduce myself and my system. I'm 65 years old, living in Cornwall and have been into Hi Fi since the late 60's.
Over the years I've owned lots of kit, some good, some bad, but here is my current system.
TT: Alphason Sonata with top Origin Live motors power supply etc
Arm: Alphason HR 100MCS
Cartridges: Lyra Lydian Beta and Denon DL-S1 (arriving anyday)
Pre Amp Croft (previously Glen's own and one of only two made)
Power Amps Croft Series 11 OTL monoblocks (again previously Glen's own)
Step up devices: Audio Note AN-S2(L) and Lentec Head amp
Speakers: Sonus Faber Minuettos and (occasionally) REL Stadium 111 sub.

My Audio Note AN S2 will not be suitable for the Denon so I will be using the Lentec until I can find a secondhand Sut in the new year

Hi Stephen, very nice system you have there.

Where in Cornwall are you as it is a place I would love to live, but sadly I think that is unlikely to happen.

Rob.

For puffin, I,m in Redruth.
For Baswas, I don't have any pics at the moment, but will take some soon. I think the pre amp was the prototype for the Mega Micro (which I also used to own) It has a gigantic valve power supply unlike the final version of the Mega. The power supply sits on the same chassis as the OTL. A separate supply for each channel and 18 valves on top and more in the base although I can't remember how many. As you might expect, being Glen's own, it obviously was constantly updated as Glen found better components.
At one stage, I had a woodworking facility and used to machine the wooden fronts of some of Glen's amps and received the pre amp as payment rather than cash.
All the best Steve

Hi Stephen, welcome.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it here on AOS.

Cornwall is one of my favourite places. I'm there often, as my brother lives on the Lizard near Manaccan. Lovely spot.

Sounds like you've been tinkering with H-Fi about as long as me!

Cheers,
Geoff.

Redruth.

A zillion years ago when we were skint and the kids tiny, we were lent £25 to rent a mobile home on someone's land in Goon Gumpas for a week. God times was 'ard.

It was a great holiday.

I've only been in Cornwall the last 7 years, I have mainly lived in Hereford, although I did live for 8 years up in Orkney (doing the self sufficiency thing)

That is a very nice system StevieM. Envy!

Somehow I always think that hifi sounds better in Cornwall.
