Do a completed listings search on ebay. Should give you a rough idea.

450 to 700 is what I've seen.

I have one in its original box. The address they were at for 18 months can't remember where that was. Some paperwork.

With design awards council sticker

Always wanted to restore it not got round to it yet. Still got hopes.

£450 on a good day for an average to tatty example. £800 for a minters example with Transcriptors unipivot arm.

Superb Deck. All spares still available via Transcriptors who are a pleasure to deal with.

The Fluid Arm was perfect for super-compliance cartridges like the ADC 25/26/XLM mk1 and Empire 1000XE/X and 2000Z. No idea how it would cope with other pickups though...

You're right David, it was designed for carts ideally with compliances higher than 15cu.

V15III (or any of the V15s) works well. Others that will work well:

Shure M95 series
Shure M75 series
Shure M97xe
Sonus Blue-Gold
Ortofon VMS series
Some Nakaoka carts (check compliance).

The other way of addressing the issue is to add some headshell mass to bring the effective mass of the arm in line with modern medium mass arms (around 6g will do) and then most modern MM carts can be used.

Rare Bird,
I have original Mitchell Hydraulics Reference deck fitted with one of the last production run SME3009 arms to leave the factory that I could be persuaded to part company with for around £650. The arm has been rewired with Audio Note silver tonearm wire from HifiCollective.

The only small defect apart from a few very minor stractches in the acrylic cover is the spirit level has dried out and has no bubble. Apart frpm that mint.
It'll need a full strip down and service that I'll do and will get some fresh damping fluid.

I originally ordered the deck direct form Michell's and came with the Electic version gold plated pods. These give greater support for the record over the original ones. The deck looks like this:

Thanks Colin
Very tempting but i was wanting the Fluid arm, the plan is to use my ADC '26' on it. I'm also wanting the version of the deck with the little foam pads on top of the weights.

Mine is the transcriptors version with the gold looking record stands with small felt pads on top.
