Hi all

I purchased a lovely SOundTradition Live! Hashimoto SUT from one of the guys on the Wam last week.
Unfortunately, there is just too much gain within the combo of my cart, phono and amp, on simple music it sounds wonderful, but on more complex stuff, the sound becomes muddy and muddled. It's also very loud - i cant really go past 9 o clock. There are one or two things left to try, but its not looking hopeful.

Therefore, i'm looking for a suitable SUT for my Shelter 501 - so that probably means a 1:6, 1:10 or possibly 1:15. I have recently had a nice Martha 1:6 and a LV SUT (sold both of course) So i would certainly consider those again.

But if there is something better out there, i'd love to hear it. Budget will be between £200 and £550 ish - i'd be happy to spend at the top end for something special, but would also be happy at the lower end for something like a bargain Martha's. Also, my finances are bloody shot, so my wife would be happy too.

ANy suggestions or advice would be very welcome indeed.
Cheers
Rich

If you're not scared of a little DIY, Lundahl offers a few options...
LL1933 in 1:8 configuration, properly terminated would be great!

Looking at the specs, anything that matches the 103R should match your Shelter 501.
Denon AU-S1 seems a good match, might be too expensive.
(I wouldn't be surprised if it had a couple of LL1681's inside)
