Dodgy.. Watch out!

Hi all.

Just recently I have placed a couple of ads on Audio Jumble. I have to say that I've had 3 emails sent to me in reply to the ads and all with the same pigeon english reply, same reply style. Mostly from Spain.

Obviously I'm not going to even reply but I just wanted to let you guys know as these are to me quite obviously scammers.

My sister in law breeds dogs and lately she has had a reply "from the desk of Smith-Brown" "barrister solicitor at law" asking for her paypal email addy and that he will send his shipper to pick up the dog..now as these are pedigree dogs she always wants to meet the buyer to assure herself that they are going to a good home...he says he is in London and then gives a postcode in Peterborough,but keeps insisting that he wants to do it right via paypal and as a "solicitor barrister" she should be assured that it is a safe transaction,yet he hasn't said what colour,gender,or asked any other pertinent questions,he just wants a dog…..yea right

If the "Smith Browne, barrister solicitor at law" George refers to is genuine (which I feel is unlikely), he sounds like a pompous prat and I'd suggest George's sister tells him to 'sling his hook'. I certainly would not deal with this person.

Forwarded his emails to the Peterborough Police online fraud section and explained why it was suspicious....claiming to be in London and giving a Peterborough address and postcode....there is no such thing as a "Barrister Solicitor".....its one or the other..that was his first mistake:cool:

In that case, judging by most of the barristers I know, that sounds like he would be entirely genuine.
