Offered for sale is Quad 405 with full Net Audio upgrade package. I purchased this amp as an incomplete build and have built and further upgraded.

I'm not a business but I do constantly tinker and as such I turn over HiFi regularly and usually upgrade when I can in the process. I do leverage on my good DIY reputation (I use the same user name over on the diyaudio forum)

Listed on ebay here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221164792839

I'm happy to take offers here on the forum Looking for £260 plus postage which already takes into account evil bay fees that wont apply here. Ran this amp over the weekend from a TVC to check performance and this one is as impressive as the last one I did for a friend!

Any questions please ask

The output protection clamp circuit has also been upgraded with high quality capacitors and fitted direct to high quality gold plated conventional 4mm binding posts.
Input to the amplifier is now via high quality gold plated Phono (RCA) sockets mounted close to the amplifier modules to keep the coax as short as possible.

The amplifier has been fully rewired direct for 240v on the primary side of the transformer
All wiring is fixed to the main amp modules via origianl style spade connectors to retain the convenience for service but that have been soldered in order to prevent poor connection effecting performance. The performance of this amp is far superior to the original.
Don't wast your money on an unserviced original because it will need all of the caps replacing as a minimum!!! Check the condition of any original and the main PSU caps will be bulging on the top. Also the electrolytic caps on the amplifier modules along with a couple of key signal filter caps will have gone high ESR or out of spec causing high levels of hum and poor dynamic performance. All the common problems have been resolved here and this amp is ready to offer years of high performance!!!

Open to sensible offers!

EDIT.....also got a 1 owner from new quad 44 which has been serviced with one of the radio boards adjusted for CD (as per the quad service data) The only thing that lets is down is wear on the paint on the volume control. Comes with original box etc. Looking for similar money for this. Selling for a friend but I have the amp in my possession. PM me if you are interested:)
