Linear Audio Research IA-30mkII review in Hifi Choice magazine
had just been published in current April 2013 Issue [ No- 370 ].

Amplifier had been given Hi-fi Choice Recommended badge and
in critical Jason Kennedy's opinion .............................................

" ...It's naturally good on tone, especially voices and even voices shouting out
of the audience during Stanley Clarke's solo in La Cancion de Sophia ( Forever
- Corea, Clarke & White). But the double bass playing is what steals the show.
It has both weight and speed and a harmonic richness that you have to pay
rather more for with solid state amps."

When it comes to final conclusions Jason says:

" ... The Linear Audio Research is well thought -out and properly build example
of the bread, there are cheaper alternatives but none to my knowledge that
are dual mono and have active preamp stages. Eugeniusz Czyzewski may have
an unpronunceable name, but his time in the rough and tumble world of studio
and stage electronics has taught him a thing or two about what makes a robust
and great sounding amplifier. If this is what Poles are capable of the Chinese
better up their game."

I was fortunate enough to trial this amp in my system for several months and it was very impressive, and at a very fair price considering the competition at this level. Great detail and a nice tonal balance which was exceptionally neutral. Build quality seems to be very good too. If you're in the market for a decent valve amp and are bewildered by the choice, then this is a safe bet providing your speakers present a reasonably easy load.

What's your definition of a reasonably easy load gents?
