I'm getting my valve setup sorted and would really like to try some super tweeters so any recommendations would be most welcome.
:)
The T27 in the JR149's is good for well over 20kHz so not necessary IMO. The HF1300 bombs over 15kHz and the Coles that was often used with it is still available and goes up a fair way IIRC.
PLEASE bear in mind that the audibility of many after-market "super tweeters" is because they actually come in at 8 - 9kHz. The Tannoy ones (certainly the early ones) did just this and "only" went up to 27kHz before rolling out. Even the Coles in the Spendor BC series used with the HF1300 came in at 11 - 12kHz out of phase with the HF1300 with the intention of minimising the peak at 14kHz exhibited by the Celestion tweeter.

I may get shot down for posting this but I dont think they make any (audible) difference :sofa:
I had a pair of lovely Townshend supertweeters that I used with my Epos M22i's that I could convince myself improved focus and extended bass but in a blind switchover test proved to be hogwash
I moved them on and dont regret it.
I have a pair of JR149's - rebuilt with Type 24 xovers and would agree with David that they dont need supertweeters - sonically or aesthetically.
IMHO there are far better ways to spend your hard earned dollar
