Very sad news to hear that Patrick Moore has passed at the age of 89 :(


He "passed away peacefully at 12:25 this afternoon" at his home in Selsey, West Sussex, they said in a statement.

I usually watch the sky at night , my dad was a keen astronomer and watched every edition without fail ! What a character Patrick was .

What a character. Used to enjoy him playing the xylophone especially when his monocle popped out.

I met him a couple of times at his lectures / xylophone concerts, a lovely bloke, more than happy to chat and sign my books. A sad loss.

Sad to see the old chap go, but he had a good innings... Sadly though, he's another one of the 'old school' TV presenters, really good at his job and passionate about what he did, who won't be replaced :(
